This is what I call REAL music.

To prime the day for a good start, here are Jacques Loussier and Bobby Mcferrin at the Bach Anniversary Leipzig making variations over “Sleepers, awake!” (Or, more precisely, Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, BWV 140)

It was actually Bill Bailey that first inspired me to learn this prelude (I haven’t tried the fugue). It features in his investigation of cockney music in some of classical music’s finest works.
This version, by Glenn Gould is just amazing, incredible lightning fast fingerwork. Just awesome, as in I’m in awe of him.
Glenn Gould plays Bach~Prelude & Fugue No.21 (The Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1), BWV 866 (by AfrikiSun)
Menuhin plays Bach’s Violin Sonata No.1 - I’ve said before that I don’t like violin on its own, but this piece is brilliant, as is Menuhin’s execution!

He is performing the violin part with his right hand, the cello/basso continuo part with his feet, and the choir part with his left hand.
Bobby McFerrin singing Ave Maria (Gounoud version).
I am surprised how much this moved me…I got shown this in Music class today and I almost started to cry, the way he gets the crowd to join in so perfectly with his voice is incredible.

yuji takahashi on some bach, lets get it.
I love this piece of music. It’s just about Bach’s best fugue in my opinion, and he wrote some damn fine fugues I can tell you.
