To prime the day for a good start, here are Jacques Loussier and Bobby Mcferrin at the Bach Anniversary Leipzig making variations over “Sleepers, awake!” (Or, more precisely, Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, BWV 140)



It was actually Bill Bailey that first inspired me to learn this prelude (I haven’t tried the fugue). It features in his investigation of cockney music in some of classical music’s finest works.

This version, by Glenn Gould is just amazing, incredible lightning fast fingerwork. Just awesome, as in I’m in awe of him.
